Today, March 11, would have been mum and dad's 64th Wedding Anniverary!
They were married, of course, during the war at dad's home, Tottenham, as mum was serving in the ATS, based at Didcot, and so it was easier for the marriage to take place in London, rather than in mum's home town of Kingsbridge, some twenty miles or so away from where we now live.
Mum and dad celebrated their Diamond Wedding together in 2004, and the picture was featured in our local paper, the Herald, which I write for. The picture was taken outside our front door.
Sadly mum died on April 11 that same year, which happened to be Easter Sunday, and a day I shall never ever forget. At least, though, something helped her to hang on to make those 60 years of married life together!
